My first impression of Gollylagging was in the flesh when the four-piece opened up last year’s Something In The Way fest with the same energy as you’d expect from the headliners. That’s just who they are at all times. Bucked up by then-new single “Bronco” around that same time, the Boston DIY rockers haven’t disappointed with everything they’ve carved out and brightly shot since.
The arrival of their debut full-length, Real Life, is right around the corner, and its latest preview “Red Fish” is also another great catch that matches the energy of their New England autumnal indie rock scenery. Crunchy guitars tumble and rustle in as warm hues as the leaves falling to the ground. But for those who may be in their own heads too much about image maxxing for the clout of the season, they’re probably not here for it. “Chill, out kid / I don’t even even wanna know / You should be my friend if you wanna be bold,” vocalist and guitarist Jake Regulbuto challenges their authenticity. Call it through being cool, aside from the weather.

Gollylagging’s Real Life will be released October 16th on Disposable America.
