A tree falling in a cemetery. The power is out. Blood is dripping. And all of it is triggering memories about everything. Gollywagging don’t need to get into any more specificities beyond that to paint quite the intense picture of what’s going on. The underground rocker’s contextualizing of it with broad, devastating brush strokes is all they need to churn out something that sounds like a storm just hit the outside and in turn, the mind’s interiors, seemingly turning the world on its own head. It’s not unlike their sound: baring the claw marks of their local DIY scene’s surroundings where the possibility of eruptive noise is always lurking in its sonic forecast, their slow-focused emotiveness always has a way of making it all come crashing down.
