Don’t let those dance moves fool you — Show Me The Body are back to get loud and cause chaos on the streets in their unholy union alongside big indie producer Kenneth Blume III (Geese, IDOLS) and Swedish pop-crossover hitmaker Klas Åhlund (Robyn, Ghost) without losing any of their own teeth that has made the New York City experimental hardcore punk trio one the more explosive elements within the scene. “No God”, the latest single from their newly-announced fourth studio album, Alone Together, is something that makes it even more real to that effect.

Admittedly, the pseudo rap beats and the bass bumpin’ of its predecessor had these pages wondering if the band were on a trajectory to making a more “palatable” album for the masses. Not quite. If anything, the team-up here does the complete opposite by pushing their sharpest edges within centimeters to the surface, between frontman Julian Cashwan Pratt’s banjoing and rap-rocked bark as Harlan Steed’s pillaging basslines and Nijol Benjamin hard-hit snares. Coupled with its Alex Huggins-directed visuals that sees Pratt riding shotgun alongside masked street car racing creator License as they swim through NYC traffic casually on edge, there’s no reason to believe Show Me The Body have lost any of their lust for living on the dangerous side just yet.
