“Do you want to be FREE?” The question may be rhetorical, but when you really think about it, we’re living in a really dark timeline where the concept of freedom feels less like a given and more like an inevitable loss. Surveillance states. Algorithms. AI. Every move you make nowadays is being tracked and stored in some natural resources-pillaging data center whether you’re behind a screen or not, and will one day be weaponized against you.
PUREST FORM are doing their damnedest to break free from the steel cage that threatens to keep us captive, and it all begins with unleashing their inner “ANIMAL” to rip through it on the lead single from the Los Angeles hardcore IBM trio’s newly-announced EP, Resistance. Since breaking through the scene in 2024 through a cross-wiring of pit-friendly, heavy and industrial electronic influence, the trio of vocalist Story Beeson, guitarist / programmer Madi Woodward, and bassist Riley Oikawa-Dahlson have been relentlessly crushing dark realities through a pulse maximized.
This listen is no different — an adrenaline-scourged thrash and rave at once in its high-impulse electric pounce with Beeson growling, baring full teeth. “Fight the animal in me!,” she begs of anyone looking to confine her free will. There are some real villains out there in the world who’d be dumb enough to try that. It’s their funeral, from the sounds of it…
Directed by: Story Beeson
PUREST FORM’s RESISTANCE will be released September 4th on Dais Records.
