In a sense, the end of the world has already come for us. We just haven’t acknowledged the fact that the best days of living on this Earth have passed us by, stuck in denial thinking there’s still some way out of it. Porcelain are facing the hard reality, however, on “Apocalypse”, the lead single from the Austin four-piece’s forthcoming sophomore follow-up to their eponymous 2024 breakthrough debut.

“I remember when people were all pure / And sacred as a cow,” reminisces frontman and guitarist Steve Pike through a rotational slog of heavy-sifting riffage and rhythm being cranked out by guitarist Ryan Fitzgibbon, bassist Jordan Emmert, and drummer Eli Deitzworking. It’s as if their limbs arms are the only functional cogs left in the machine preventing the whole thing from shutting down. “Everything has changed / Not better but for worse.” And yet, the world keeps spinning, even if there’s no reason for it to anymore.
