Naming a track after the way it quite literally sounds can sometimes be a little too on the nose, but “paper thin” holds onto every particle matter within its title through and through. Held within she’s green’s hands, the latest listen from the Minneapolis “moss music” makers a.k.a. dream-pop band’s forthcoming extended play, Swallowtail, is sonic fragility and lightness encapsulate of heavy emotion. Zofia Smith’s melancholic song mourns a dying love, yet it refrains from adding any weight to its surface as a lushness of guitars provide ample gauze to mend the internal bleeding. “It’s been too far along now / Holding onto something gone,” her words ripple through. Rather than letting it sink her heart deep, she just let’s it slowly fade away.

she’s green’s Swallowtail will be released July 10th on Photo Finish Records.
