God’s Hate – “I Am The Cure”

“I decide the way that I die / You are the disease, I am the cure.” God’s Hate have always piled on their words in extra bold font, but at the core of the Los Angeles hardcore bruisers’ post-hiatus return effort, Won’t Be Disgraced, these ones are a much needed reminder for dark times as to why it’s more important than ever to fight off everything: this hellscape of a timeline, your own demons and ego, and the intrusive thoughts telling you it’s time to quit. Bolstered by the gonzo bombing behind the mic of the quintet’s imposing frontmonster Brody King, it’s one of the band’s most intentional call-to-arms shouted at the scene to date. The listen’s muscular rage sets fire to immoral unions and repugnant social systems with full conflagration while rebuilding the body from the hardest concrete that doubles down as a straight edge recommitment. “Fix yourself, fix your head, or fuck your mind until you are dead.” Over these bodies? You’re more likely to be destroyed by them first.

God’s Hate Won’t Be Disgraced is available now on Closed Casket Activities.
