Seattle’s TV Star may exist in a space outside of frame from the rest of the indie rock world, with their sound being a soft, wilted daze of sprawling alternative country, psych-rock swirls, and the slightest hint of shoegaze refractions that had the ability to meld seamlessly into a split with fellow Washington noise-pop amalgamations Spiral XP a couple of years back. Everything is in clear focus for them, regardless, on “The Package”, the latest highlight from the band’s upcoming debut full-length, Music For Heads. “I wanna take it from here / While I’m ripe with fear,” sings Ash Nagel with a sense of assuredness as the listen takes to the air on its own terms. “Seared into the flight / Fighting, holding, on to this sight.” As guitarist Che Hise-Gattone’s lead sizzle of electricity breaks through any remaining clouds, all you feel is a sense of floating above any and all gravity trying to hold you down.
Director: Che Hise-Gattone
TV Star’s Music For Heads will be released April 24th on Father/Daughter Records.
