There’s a reason why you shouldn’t make any serious decisions past a certain time in the day. For those who pay no mind to sound advice, the worst of intentions come creeping in behind darker synth waves powered by dangerous lust on Credit Card’s “Love Crime”.

As the latest highlight from the Detroit industrial punk duo of vocalist and synthesist Shaun Hunter and programmer and guitarist Max Dameron’s debut mixtape, Devil’s Night / Dead Internet, loyalty goes right out the window during a night drive once desire for an old flame reignites behind the ignition of the person behind the wheel. The problem? That person in the passenger seat is already taken, and by someone our narrator knows very well.

“I’m taking a ride with my best friend’s girlfriend / She used to be mine,” Hunter sings in devilish, vacant stare. The listen’s pulse syncs racing heartbeats with the speedometer, and there’s no going back — this end destination pays no mind to bro codes or common decency. The heart wants what the heart wants, and it’s willing to do the time.

Credit Card’s Devi’s Night / Dead Internet will be released August 14th.
