Liquid Mike – “American Caveman”

In short, we’re all going to die. And that’s fine! Humans had a pretty solid run. On a more micro level, that can be some pretty heavy shit to think about, though. Pour out a bowl and let “American Caveman”, the final preview from Liquid Mike’s new album, Paul Bunyan’s Slingshot, be the thing to help you roll with the grim reaper’s inevitable death punch. “We got older but sound the same / Beyond the scope of a carbon date / In 50,000 years none of our remains / Are gonna be displayed thru a window pane,” Mike Maple sings as his head begins circling around the notion of how much effort we put in to this life just to wind up in the same ending as any other extinct being, all within a swash of fuzz-blown power-pop that prove how the biggest existential realizations racing into infinity sometimes come from our humblest suburban songwriting heroes…

Liquid Mike’s Paul Bunyan’s Slingshot will be released February 2nd.
