So Pitted – “Parasite”

Photo by Alana Cuturilo and Lauren Rodriguez

So Pitted promise a freak future for noise rock that we deserve by getting weird with today’s morbid fascination of ’90s nü-metal, the ADHD pop experimentation of 100 gecs, as well as the bludgeoning of bands like Chat Pile and METZ. With “Parasite”, the Seattle four-piece of Nathan Rodriguez, Liam Downey, Jagger Beato, and Lauren Rodriguez introduce their forthcoming sophomore effort, Cloned, as a fusion of all of these offbeat energies through their own uncanny mutation of heavy rock turned up loud, panicked, and delivering devastation without seeping too far below a crustier murk of production nor overly shellacked on the surface as Downey’s vocals buckle over the radiation emitted from it all. “Everything’s dead / Already dead,” he repeats. There’s no stopping the internal decay once the alien vibrations of So Pitted are inside of you.

So Pitted’s Cloned will be released March 8th on Youth Riot Records.
