dazy – “Forced Perspective”

He’s every hardcore band’s favorite publicity champion and their go-to choice to sweetening the pit with an electric power-pop energy, and James Goodson hasn’t missed the mark since stepping out of the scene’s shadows with his own band, dazy, on last year’s proper debut LP, OUTOFBODY. “Forced Perspective”, his latest single and first in recording alongside Ryan Hemsworth, is another great example in how his sonic reach is brightening the corners of darker scenes. One part rose-tinted glasses and one part half-glass empty, Hemsworth’s assist in production cleans up the fringes of dazy’s edges without losing Goodson’s knack for looking at life optimistically with a pessimistic slant. “Ineffective forced perspective never seems to turn out right,” Goodson sings. At its core, the emotional Venn diagram finds its intersect wherever dazy is.

dazy’s “Forced Perspective” single is available now on Lame-O Records.
