Lost Film – “Exist”

As summer gives way to autumn, the final preview from Lost Film’s sophomore effort, Keep It Together, puts the “Exist” in its ensuing “existential crisis.” ‘Tis the season after all, when lessening light and nature beginning its slow march into decay and hibernation naturally trigger the brain to take stock on being through big, deep think bubbles. The motions have certainly caught up with the daydreamed indie-pop reflections of the Easthampton troupe led by songwriter Jimmy Hewitt, but sometimes figuring it out just requires accepting that you’re in the crosshairs of it all, which sound off here through emotive guitar pop’s receiving arms and a tint of shoegaze buzzing around the periphery. “I’ll be around / Don’t stay down / I’ll be just what you like.” Sink into your surroundings, and the answer to all may just be found hidden in plain sight…

Lost Film’s Keep It Together will be released September 15th on Relief Map Records.
