If “Fourth Perspective”, the first single from Jlin’s forthcoming mini album, Perspective, felt like being amidst the embryonic stages of some new form of being in sound and energy, then its latest preview, “Paradigm”, is its starting point. The Indiana-based experimental artist doesn’t slow toe into its process, however. Right from its start, the listen moves with a hyperactive intentionality in its building block movements. In any other artist’s hands, this could easily go the way of an anxiety-inducing collapse, but in a creator’s like Jlin, her laser focus on creating her own blueprint to being unlike any other is evidence of an intelligent design.
