“Foul” is a call-and-response revolution from Special Interest’s industrial dance-punk floor intended to land straight into the work force, drowning, and wreck the very labor systems that over-drain so many. “If it’s not my back / It’s my head / If not my head / It’s my heart / Short staffed / Overworked / Sleep deprived / It’s an art,” frontperson Alli Logout and guitarist Maria Elena shout from the dish pit to the disenchanted trapped in the rat race. Whereas jobs have a seedy way of overtaking your identity and sucking the life out of you, this one has your back and fights back to remind you that you exist as something more than just a number.
Special Interest’s Endure will be released November 4th on Rough Trade.
