Truth Club – “It’s Time”

“I watch this one last busy week crestfall and dissolve / The intentions you set and I will watch it happen again,” sings Travis Harrington on “It’s Time”, the newest single from dreary Carolina indie-punk four-piece Truth Club. Delivered with a severe case of the Mondays, the defeatism against the droll of what we tell ourselves in order to get us through the day hits the core of this listen, pulling along the weight of its woes reluctantly, but with a survivalist necessity. “Underpaid / Go in late, it’s a show of faith / Always running / But in Yve’s groove / She moves / She dreams up new ways to exhaust herself.” The weekend is right around the corner they say, but then again, it never really does come.

Truth Club’s “It’s Time” single is available now.
