The ball is about to drop, but not on 2026 just yet — although, it’s already felt like we’ve live through a year at this stage, doesn’t it? Instead, the uncanny Burlington indie rockers Robber Robber are about to release their anticipated sophomore album and first for Fire Talk, Two Wheels Move The Soul, this Friday, and yet, that exhaustive sentiment remains true through their song regardless on its final preview, “New Year’s Eve”. “I’m tired / So is everyone / How can I complain?”, vocalist and guitarist Nina Cates sings, as if she’s asking for the universe’s manager. Until she’s got an answer, she’s grinding through it hard, dropping bars while paying the bills over a ripple of burning electric currents, swaggering basslines, and hi-hats pushing their way through the beat. “Baby, where did all the time go? / I was stuck here tryna make it work.” One minute it’s the new year. The next, you’re a whole ass year older, closer to death, and wondering what you even did with it all. That’s just how it shakes out when just trying to get by is hard enough of a job as is.

Robber Robber’s Two Wheels Move the Soul will be released April 3rd on Fire Talk.
