From trailing thoughts of “Springtime” to that of a summerstruck “Vacation”, it’s safe to say that Touch Girl Apple Blossom are positioning themselves early on in this still-winter as your warm weather listening destination once the temps turn up more consistently. The latest preview from the Austin spangle-pop quartet’s debut album, Graceful, isn’t quite the dream life one might imagine when it comes to getting away, though. There’s a couple causing a scene and fighting about music. Tears are shed when a picture of another woman is found stashed away in the other’s drawer. Guitarist and vocalist Olivia Garner hates L.A., and wants to throw her phone away. The listen’s spangle of jangly riffs and beaming pop chorus sprinkles on the sunshine copiously, but throughout her song, she can only feel the burn. “This vacation feels so long,” she sighs. That being said, next time you book a trip, consider going at it alone.
