Terror – “Still Suffer”

Contending with everyday terror become conditioned into our daily lives for just as long as the reign of Terror has been a part of the hardcore scene. The former is far less awesome than the latter, but the main takeaway in it all is 24 years into their career, one of these things has aged so much better than the other in the millennial culture of it all. That’s evident on the very aptly-named “Still Suffer”, the lead single and title track from the veteran Los Angeles hardcore bruiserweights’ ninth studio album and first for Flatspot Records.

f you need further proof that a bunch of 50something-year-olds converging in the pit keeps you feeling more awake and alive than some of the slumbering heavy stuff being made by kids half their age these days, this one gets that job done with no filler, as the five-piece has a stoic way of remaining intensely vital in their anthem of acknowledging the price of pain endured every step of the way, turning it into fuel to reignite their fire. Shit is dark out there and anyone who came up through it over the past two decades plus has bared the worst of it, but Terror give you just enough reason to not back down.
