Fcukers have become one of those stories where a band with a polarizing name is known more for their hype in overdrive while leaving the skeptics of the music listening world wondering if they’re truly capable of delivering on it. It happens, especially in the day and age of the industry plant and suspicious viral statuses. Everything feels like a grift nowadays.
Beyond the curiosities behind their curious 2024 EP, Baggy$$, they still hadn’t released a full-body album to disprove any accusations of holes in these creative plots, but that’s about to change in a big way when their debut LP, Ö, is set free just in time to see them take over the year’s festival scene as well as the a few dates scheduled for Harry Styles’ zeitgeist-threatening world tour.
Mr. Styles may want to rethink rebranding himself as the new heir apparent to modern disco on that run. As far as pure party-ready bangers go, the album’s latest highlight, “L.U.C.K.Y”, strikes the mirror ball light better than what the mega pop star was aiming for in introducing his own “Aperture” to the dance floor. If he was going for an LCD Soundsystem energy vibe there, then Shanny Wise and Jackson Walker Lewis go one step further and say, “Yeah, well we actually opened for and collaborated with James Murphy.” Call it luck. Call it the real deal. Fcukers sound like they’re just getting started with their roll…

Fcukers’ Ö will be released March 26th on Ninja Tune.
