Nothing – “toothless coal”

Barbiturates are out. Hardcore hallucinogenics are the sonic wireframe in mind when it comes to where modern shoegaze is headed right now, so get ready to blow yours out exponentially in color and sound. The signs have been here for a minute — the standout sensory blasts from Nuclear Daisies and forever ☆ this past year set these fast particles in motion — but when you’ve got a force as powerful as Nothing behind that same vein of energy on their latest a short history of decay preview “toothless coal”, the result is inescapably all-engulfing in this heavy wash of asymmetrical electrical waves and vocals bleeding out of them spun through a max turbine. And so is the life blood in this soul-sucking existence. “Those who live are living off the dead / Fluently in our decadence.” And yet, it somehow still leaves you feeling over-stimulated.
