The past is chasing Ben Walsh and Tigers Jaw into Lost On You, the Scranton emo rockers’ first new album since 2021’s I Won’t Care How You Remember Me kept their solid streak alive. With its lead single “Head is Like a Sinking Stone”, it was a blissful childhood dream resurfacing to mind, but with its second single, it’s a “Ghost” in today’s waking daylight from his parents’ porch he could have otherwise done without spotting.

We’ve all encountered these kind of haunts making apparitions in our own lives: people who meant something to us yesterday, but with distance and time, you come to realize that some people are merely meant to be seasons in our lives — especially when they don’t grow beyond that one. The decay doesn’t get in the way of what Tigers Jaw do best, however — vivid emotions in their melodic crush always have a way of sounding welcome even when they conjure up uneasy feelings.
