“Angel Du$t never misses” is all but a foregone reaction from everyone at this point with “I’m The Outside”. Technically, the opine is not wrong. The album rollout behind their Run for Cover Records debut, COLD 2 THE TOUCH, has been a lengthy one that started out a half year ago with its doubling of hardcore and banger singles, “The Knife” and “The Beat”, and there hasn’t been a single soft one lobbed in or a dip in energy from what’s followed with its title track and the strange acoustic jam out “DU$T”.
Justice Tripp recounts that the album’s final preview was the last to be written and recorded but became his favorite from the bunch, and though brevity is our curse here, you can tell why. The listen embellishes the most of all sides — the outsides, if you will — of the Baltimore experimental hardcore band’s exploding heads with its phreak pop penchants before coarsing over the groove before nailing the breakdown in a way that has come to define their style from well beyond the margins of the pit. No fear from these dudes, and you’re more than welcome to get inside the perspective, too.
