Haywire didn’t just breakthrough in 2025. The Boston hardcore punks and hardest working band in the scene gave everyone a fair shot to see them crashing through with one of the most astounding tours of the year which hit every single state across the United States this past summer (and it’s still going, wrapping up this weekend in their hometown at a headlining gig for the Boston installment of For the Children alongside Twitching Tongues, Fuming Mouth, Colin of Arabia, and their recent Shirts vs. Skins split EP collaborators No Guard.) No rest in the New Year either — they’ll be headed across the country once again doing their own co-headlining with Missing Link before getting rowdy with Dropkick fuckin’ Murphys on the road to St. Patty’s Day. From their, they’re opening for Drain alongside No Pressure and Secret World throughout the spring.
Needless to say, they’re living in the moment to the fullest, and in their new video for aforementioned Shirts vs. Skins EP track “Always By My Side”, they’re taking a beat to acknowledge those who’ve stood with them through every step of the way, even when they weren’t hardcore famous — especially frontman Austin Sparkman’s adopted families. Akin to their summer frenzy for “Summer Nights”, the video makes art out of real life as they see it from the stage, with it plunging you straight into the heart of the city’s hardcore community during this past August’s Back to School Jam at Lynch Family Skate Park. “All my younger years were spent with people that had nothing to give but their company. This is a song about all of those people.” From the looks of it, there’s plenty of room to join them in lifting the whole scene up…
