Even if it weren’t for the pointed lyrics, Destiny Bond’s message would speak for itself through sheer energy alone. With the Denver hardcore punk’s sophomore album, The Love, on the way in a matter of weeks, they’re hitting us hard non-stop with a slew of hellbent preview singles. “Peace as a Punchline” took to task anyone threatening their existence, and now with the one-two punch of “Out Loud” and “Mind to the Mirror” out in the wild, it’s hard to imagine that this album won’t be leaving anything but righteous destruction in its wake when it finally levels the scene. “Out Loud” plays like a tee-off for the subsequent “Mind to the Mirror”, with Chloe Madonna asking the hard introspective questions, which then get answered with the highest intensity of confrontation in your reflection’s face. If the volume doesn’t destroy you, the shattered glass just might.
