HOME FRONT – “Light Sleeper”

Maybe you’re struggling to see the light, too. It’s almost like there’s no point to even considering that there will be a future when everything in this world seems like it’s quickly headed into a continuous downward spiral of the very bleakest kind by the day. That it can be a terribly lonely and isolating experience for some to go through doesn’t help, so why would anyone even want to continue to exist when the end is already written on the wall?

Home Front know we’re in a really tough spot, but there’s a secret way out. and On “Light Sleeper” — the lead single from the Edmonton experimental punk duo’s new album, Watch It Die — they’re the light in the dark offering an urgent S.O.S. on community: despite *everything* causing a piece of our spirits to die each day, it doesn’t mean that we have to go through it alone. “We’re born alone! We die alone!,” Graeme MacKinnon and Clint Frazier remind us, only to turn the age old morbid cliché onto its head with one truth that’s often overlook: “Don’t think you ever have to live alone.” Coating gliding synths over their toughened street-punk punk exterior, HOME FRONT’s end times anthem is the kind where if you’re lucky to find your people, you’ll at least go down swingin’ together.

HOME FRONT’s Watch It Die will be released November 14th on La Vida Es Un Mus Discos.
