Prewn – “Dirty Dog”

“Dirty Dog” sounds like it was recorded in its own filth and comes from a place of full of ire and maybe just a tiny bit of evil. With that, Prewn has written one of the year’s most definitively pure rock songs that would make even Satan himself blush through his red face. As the latest preview from the Los Angeles-by-way-of-Northampton songwriter’s sophomore album, System, Izzy Hagerup channels the selfishness of man as her inspo in its first half where grimy, grungy riffs and seeping percussion can be seen as the manifestation of those ugly ways unfolding out in the world. Eventually, they all come running back when the shit hits the fan, and that’s right when the listen takes a strange detour south into an underworld where reality gets twisted in sound. Welcome to your version of Hell, asshole, where in these parts, there’s no sympathy for the devil.

Directed by: Christie Clause & Chris Bugnacki

Prewn’s System will be released October 23rd on Exploding In Sound Records.
