fleshwater – “Last Escape”

“New direction / How do you feel now?” That’s the ultimate question being positioned by Anthony DiDio on “Last Escape”, the second single from the Massachusetts heavy-gazers’s sophomore effort, 2000: In Search Of The Endless Sky“. You could interpret that a few different ways. With the album’s predecessor preview “Jetpack”, it felt like liftoff for their next chapter in leveling up fleshwater’s sound. Now in a place where gravity has no pull, this is the five-piece firing on all rocket cylinders and surging through the outer limits where big rock dynamics come into play. Stars bursts and twinkle in the rush of them barreling through the atmosphere at hyper-speed. Euphoria is within reach. To answer that question, higher than ever up is the right way to go.
