These pages weren’t kidding earlier when it said the switch on Hardcore Summer has officially been flipped on this week. Of the bands who are 1,000% making the most of theirs will be the gruff, rising Bostonian hardcore boot boys Haywire, who last year released a scene highlight with their For Better or For Worse EP, have already followed it up with a recent split 12″ called Shirts vs. Skins alongside the equally toughened-up Illinois crew No Guard, and are currently undertaking one of the most ambitious tours this season that will see them hit every goddamn single state on the U.S. map (now including Alaska and Hawaii) alongside Canada. To get the scene further amped, they’ve just dropped their submission hardcore song of the summer taken from the split that is literally titled “Summer Nights”. It’s an all-around rowdy and ignorant party pit anthem that now features a dumb fun music video that debuted over at Thrasher, appropriately because of its heavy skate sess visuals (and also timely, ahead of this weekend’s skate-centric summer X-Games in Utah.) And like these pages, they also weren’t kidding, as it appears hangin’ out is what they indeed do best alongside getting fucked up with their best friends.

Haywire & No Guard’s Shirts vs. Skins is available now on DAZE / Triple B Records.
