The will-they-or-won’t-they between dazy and Militarie Gun continues on “Tall People Don’t Live Long”, though if we’re taking the song’s title as fact in regards to this ongoing creative partnership, average-heighted Ian Shelton may just outlast his taller power-popped comrade James Goodson by a few years if they ever get to the point of committing themselves to a full-blown album project together. Jokes aside, height is merely directed at the listener for metaphorical intents and purposes — no such death wishes are being made toward the vertically gifted. It’s the ones who get high on power by looking down on others who might want to heed their warning when it comes to long-term longevity, however. “Open your mouth, nothing comes out / Tasting the air but not touching the ground / Can you hear me with your head up in the clouds?,” they sing. Peaking over a spinning sun and tripped out clouds, dressed sharply in suits in the listen’s accompanying music video, yet the listen hears the pair further exploring a Baggy-er fashion in the hardcore-pop alternative adjacencies. R.I.P. all you greedy bastards, and long live the dazy and Militarie team-up that spits the facts while sounding cool as fuck doing it.
