Hotline TNT – “Candle”

So this is what it sounds like when all of those emotions being buried beneath layers of swashing shoegaze feedback are brought to the surface, huh? Being among one of the first bands from the scene’s revival era to escape the risk of becoming just an aesthetic to vibe to, Hotline TNT’s “Candle” really picks the right moment to reveal what’s been hidden in plain sight. The latest preview from the Brooklyn rockers’ third studio effort, Raspberry Moon, is as big of a profession of big butterfly feelings as they get from frontman Will Anderson, and he’s not scared to dare share that with whoever has him walking on clouds. “They don’t hold a candle to you / Nothing more that I can prove,” he swoons. The listen’s crush of noise-pop guitars crystallizing into a sugar sweetness are apt for the occasion. His heart’s on fire and the song lights up with that earnestness.

Hotline TNT’s Raspberry Moon will be released June 20th on Third Man Records.
