Philly melodic heavy rockers ASKYSOBLACK recently ascended to the ranks of Buzz Sound status around here behind the big, static-and-hook-driven pull of their debut album, Touch Heaven. It appears they’ve been enjoying every second of the new high that goes along with bringing your music out on the road to share with listeners in the flesh, as seen through the lens of their latest music video for the track, “Portrait In Private”. I’ll never get sick of these slice-of-the-tour-life views all spliced up and artfully arranged into visual document form when it comes to bands within the punk and hardcore communities. The band’s friend, Mario Dante, seemingly captured every moment — no matter how small — from behind the wheel to taking the stage across their recent east coast run, and made every second count as something bigger (as well as shared some creative ways to DIY a bong rip when all you’ve got is a lighter and an apple, atop of it.) The outro that attaches album closer, “Sore For You”, into a dazed piano ballad with an assist from Herve Roggero? You’d think it were all a dream…
