JIVEBOMB – “SERAPHIM (MARINA’S SONG)”

The dream is looking for a way to escape the dreamer in the latest single off the Baltimore band's debut album, 'ETHEREAL'.

It’s not uncommon for a dream to center around an element of surreal escapism. In the subconscious of JIVEBOMB, everything instead feels intensely heavy and very real. “SERAPHIM (MARINA’S SONG)” may be wrapped up in a vague allegory pitting vocalist Kat Madeira against the listen’s mysterious namesake, yet there’s nothing lacking in lucidity behind the intentions she and the rest of the Baltimore hardcore band shove forth behind the latest preview off their debut album, ETHEREAL. “I’m bound to you, Seraphim! / Faceless / Nothing compares / Touch me, become real!,” Madeira shouts over a fast blast of twisted metal racing toward a gold silhouette. It doesn’t matter that the figure is blinding her view. If anything, the dream is probably looking for a way out to escape the dreamer…
