High Vis can be a lot of things, but one thing they are not is a compromise for anyone’s else’s needs. The London post-punk are hot into the momentum of releasing their highly anticipated third studio effort, Guided Tour, and we’ve been privy to a few sonic shifts in their lane of ultra-faceted rock, with the one speed remaining constant during the ride being their hardline ethos in staying true to their autonomy. “Drop Me Out” is one of those fully charged anthems that gets that message across without a need for much stylistic nuance. The guitars are rigid and rhythm, while roughened, glides out into what’s arguably one of the band’s more intentional punk anthems. In front of it all, vocalist Graham Sayles is a force determinant in standing firm in what he holds. “I won’t be a passenger / Only useful when it suits you.” The driver’s seat is and High Vis’, and they know their path clearly.
High Vis’ Guided Tour will be released October 18th on Dais Records.
