R.J.F. feat. Mary Lattimore – “Virgos in the Grass”

While the timelines were abuzz with news that CEREMONY will be playing a set of big shows on both sides of the coast early next year to celebrate their 20 years of existence as a band, those more inclined to keep up with the band’s sonically eccentric frontman were pleased to find that a second Ross Farrar release has surprised this year following this past spring’s highly recommended avant-punk sophomore outing as R.J.F. Strange goings, indeed, is “Virgos in the Grass”, which technically is touted as a single, but at the very could clock as an extended play at 26:44 in length. It’s also Farrar’s first collaboration with the always amazing experimental harpist Mary Lattimore, whose contributions to the vesseling listen are just as apparent as the supernatural tellings of Farrar’s creative mind. The track creeps in twilight as if it’s capturing ambient extraterrestrial soundwaves from down here. Lattimore is no stranger to interstellar connects herself, with her strings patterning the sky celestial in zodiac constellations. The further into space you pick up these frequencies, the more transfiguring it can be on your certainty in anything…

R.J.F. feat. Mary Lattimore’s “Virgos in the Grass” single is available now.
