Peel Dream Magazine – “Dawn”

The soft focus experimental pop sides of Peel Dream Magazine’s sound can be a fascinating way to shift your perspective of the world around you. The Los Angeles trio have been putting their creative energy toward that vantage point especially leading into their upcoming album, Rose Main Reading Room, and as far as opening moments go, “Dawn” makes for the kind of listen you’d want to nudge you awake gently on the daily. It’s a dance of brain cells awakening after being recharged from a full night’s slumber and restored with a wonderfully naive sense of hope that a new day means that it will be a good day as colorform keys, flickering chimes, and vocalist Olivia Babuka Black’s ethereal presence turns you out of bed and help lift the windowsill. Let the sun shine in, even if it’s not out.

Peel Dream Magazine’s Rose Main Reading Room will be released September 4th on Topshelf Records.
