Touché Amoré – “Nobody’s”

With their 2020 standout, Lament, Touché Amoré cemented their legacy as one of the many all-time great bands to cpme about in a Wave of new post-hardcore over the past decade and a half. Whereas their scene peers have admirably overhauled styles drastically since rising up, they’ve been the ones who’ve exceled in their evolution by getting their formula down pat without ever losing any edges to it. Now on their way to their sixth studio effort, Spiral In a Straight Line, its lead single “Nobody’s” suggests continued refinement in their process of inner turmoil turned outward. Clean razorblade guitars saw into to Jeremy Bolm’s existential shouts with precision. From there, those heavy thoughts pop loud. “So let’s grieve in a forward direction / Neck in neck side by side / As I fixate on the road ahead / It just winds and winds and winds and winds.” Onward, it’s always a form of progress in spite of life’s disarray.

Touche Amore Spiral In a Straight Line will be released July 24th on Rise Records.
