This is what you’re experiencing when listening to “Love You Got”, the lead single from Dreamstate, Kelly Lee Owens’ fourth studio effort and first for dh2, the Dirty Hit electronic subsidiary led by the 1975’s George Daniel. Between the Welsh experimental electronic producer’s 2020 unintended yet miraculous pandemic balm of a sophomore breakthrough, Inner Song, and the subsequent remaining particle matter of our collective period of solitude being rendered on 2022’s LP.8, “Love You Got” feels it all return in full energy through a pure club euphoria. “Feel these desire lines / Between you and I,” she sings. Bass beats pump adrenaline to match the hard palpitating of anticipation between two bodies moving closer. This time around, it’s as if Owens is living fully in the moment where outer sensations merge.
