Kim Gordon’s post-Sonic Youth solo career has been an all-time run, so when it comes to alternative trailblazers who still have the star power to captivate audiences with repeated creative reinvention, you don’t take any moment in which they share something of theirs with the world for granted. With this past spring’s The Collective, the album heard her committing fully to a stream of conscious cool scattered over ultraviolent experimental electronic beats produced by Justin Raisen. That energy continues to bleed out into Gordon’s latest, the non-album single “ECRP”. Consider this one something akin to the inverse of “BYE BYE” where glitching x-rays invert your consciousness and lead it to parts unknown through a dizzy of loops. “Where am I? / Emergency room / Or a movie, you move me / Blow away their damn mind.” Even if you can somehow piece your head back together after this one, consider your neuro pathways rewired…
