If this world we live in is truly on fire, then Firewalker are intent on taking to its flames and immolating with it all the way down to ash. “Lit Up With Fire”, the latest highlight from the Boston hardcore thrashers sophomore full-length, Hell Bent, captures (or perhaps, can’t capture…) the uncontainable energy burning through their skin. Demon-voiced transgressions by Sophie Henry and the conflagration set behind her by guitarists Cecelia Halle and Sarah King, bassist Rory Tito, and drummer Sasha Stroud are all fury with reckless aim. “Can’t take the world we’re living in / Hurling into oblivion,” her voice serrates through scorched earth. Whatever else is left standing in their path, a blistered metallic solo sets it ablaze. But on the other hand, what else would you expect from a band who plays with the element right there in their name?
