Jade Lilitri has a natural knack for beaming sunlight into even the most dire of scenarios. You could point a gun straight at the guy, and he and his emotive powered-up punk-pop pack, oso oso, would still be able to charm their way out of the situation. That’s certainly put to the test on “all of my love”, an early preview from the band’s forthcoming fifth full-length album, life till bones, with the only heartbeats here being skipped under that kind of pressure are that aflutter, even in romantic resignation. “Annie’s got her gun now and she’s pointing it at me / I don’t know where I went wrong but we sure had a lot of fun,” he sings in the listen’s opening moments. Of course he knows deep down inside, he fumbled hard along the way, but fucking up and backing yourself into a corner is part of life’s thrill ride. With a buoyant strum in his step and a few claps of his heels, there’s no other place he’d rather be than being lost.
oso oso’s “all of my love” single is available now.
