Gulfer – “Heartshape”

With “Heartshape”, the latest preview from their forthcoming third studio effort, Third Wind, Gulfer is for lovers. No surprise here. The Montreal rockers have been in touch with their emotional side since day one. What’s most revealing in this listen are the new layers to it on a sonic level, with Joseph Therriault’s poetic musings on a feeling being texturized through the crisp, cozy crunch of acoustic guitars flirting into the more mathematical complexities in their equation of indie rock romance. “Stack this pile of memories / And watch this life we crafted / Hands are meant to hold on to / A heart worth grabbing.” And clinging at our heartstrings at that…
