@ are thinking a lot about the Internet and the way it enters our creative conscious it seems headed into the imminent release of their new EP, Are You There God? It’s Me, @. As one might suspect, its latest preview, “Webcrawler”, is heavily connected to themes of computer programming and the web crawling process it can create. The listen sonically follows suit, parsing together electronic data strings into the duo of vocalist and guitarist Victoria Rose and multi-instrumentalist Stone Filipczak’s experimental current designed with synthetic glitches and a high powered electrical server. When all of that information is taken in and syncs up, the listen rips right through the screen.
