The words coming out of BIB vocalist Nathan Ma’s mouth, even if mostly indiscernible, sound like a regurgitation of everything holding you back in this life. Everything about their style of hardcore punk is absolutely corrosive to the touch, though you can still tell every lyric spilling out is slathering heavy matter intent to mix up some big, nasty feelings of enlightenment in pit. On “TWO-FACED PLANET” and “BITTER MIND”, the first two singles from the Omaha four-piece’s forthcoming extended play, BIBLICAL, they’re serving up an ugly two-part gut punch of existential processing, with the first listen grinding negative energy based around location dysphoria, and the latter digging its way out from the grime in spite of it. BIB aren’t afraid to get neck-deep in the mess, and it shows.
