SPRINTS – “Adore Adore Adore”

If you missed it earlier this year, then be prepared for the formal arrival of SPRINTS’ vocalist and guitarist Karla Chubb who will have much to say (or better yet, screamed…) in the coming new year when the Dublin rockers releases their debut full-length, Letter to Self. “Adore Adore Adore”, an early single and highlight, is an emboldened statement from the four-piece that professes both a razor-sharp cultural critique on gender and misogyny as well as their style with all of its teeth out, fiercely and fashionably so, with Chubb’s smoke-stained voice burning through a sound that merges noisy garage rock and post-punk chic into one. “Well, do you do adore me? / Am I everything you wanted now? / Or am I everything you despise?,” she positions the question, putting her audience in as much unease as the male gaze does of she. Answers don’t matter. She and SPRINTS will take hold of their narrative as they want from this point on…

SPRINTS’ Letter to Self will be released January 5th on City Slang Records.
