In the latest case of DIY prolificity besting the music industry at its own promo game, Liquid Mike — the punk-centric indie rock project of vocalist, guitarist and primary songwriter Mike Maple alongside his recently fleshed out band of guitarist Dave Daignault, bassist Zack Alworden, synthist and horn player Monica Nelson, and drummer Cody Marecek — is coming for 2024 with full-on ambition. “K2”, the latest preview from the Marquette, Michigan band’s forthcoming album, Paul Bunyan’s Slingshot, definitely has the chops to make them happen by hacking into chonky alternative riffs, pop hook dynamos, and Maple’s lyrical specificities on Midwestern living just right in a way that makes for an undeniably sky high formula to rock beyond the ‘burbs and into the scene at large.

Liquid Mike’s Paul Bunyan’s Slingshot will be released February 2nd.
