When No Birds Sang, the forthcoming collaborative effort from heavy shoegazers Nothing and experimental grindcore heathens, Full of Hell, is appearing before us like an apparition of something we’ve never heard from either band for reasons that its latest preview, “Like Stars In the Firmament”, make known in miracle form. The listen resolves any mystery as to what it would sound like if the former tried their own hand at their known Low worship in its slowcore ebullience ascending body into the heavens, even if it finds Domenic Palermo staring down into the void, feeling tiny and whelmed against the greater map of the universe, while he is up there. The gristles of Full of Hell are waiting at the bottom, as always, reminding us that oblivion is still an inescapable form of matter in our beautifully fucked existence.
