Two of the biggest breakthrough artists of this year come from opposite side of the world in Brooklyn avant pop experimentalists, Water From Your Eyes, and Manchester industrial dance freaks, Mandy, Indiana, who each respectively released bar none standouts in Everyone’s Crushed and i’ve seen a way. The former have also proved themselves to be keen on the remix formula, and the latter are all too a complimentary fit to rearrange the shapes of the Rachel Brown and Nate Amos’ music on their forthcoming effort, Crushed By Everyone, which hears every track from Everyone’s Crushed reinterpreted by the most uncanny of their fellow emerging creative peers like Sword II, Nourished By Time, and the Cradle. Mandy, Indiana’s take on “Remember Not My Name” is accordingly a dissection of sonic matter approach to the Water From Your Eyes original, splicing the listen’s molecular composition down to an electron level, exposing its waves of energy through a prism, making Brown’s exponential refrain “only lightning casts a shadow” all the more visible.
Water From Your Eyes’ Crushed By Everyone will be released November 17th.
