SPLLIT – “Bevy Slew”

“Bevy Slew” is an apt name for the latest preview from SPLLIT, as there’s a lot of distance (and alternating directions) packed into its run time. The latest listen from the Baton Rouge art-punk duo’s new album, Infinite Hatch, carries and contours its way through off-kilter pathways like a maligned brain-to-body signaling that leaves you feeling a bit discombobulated but never lost. That Urq and Marance stir up such sensory confusion through a precise outlining of excess in incongruent patterns without doing so overwhelmingly makes the end result feel more like a tranquilizing trip rather than one leaving you sick from its shifting motion. When those final seconds lift your conscious into a static dimension, you’ll know its effects have worked as intended.

SPLLIT’s Infinite Hatch will be released October 27th on Feel It Records / Chrüsimüsi Records / Tough Gum.
