Anxious have been on the road for forever now since releasing their breakthrough album, Little Green House, and while it’s provided many opportunities to live out their emotive hardcore dreams around the world, the signs of wear and tear of it all in trying to keep relationships back home together began to surface in song on last year’s single, “Where You Been”. One year later, the Connecticut band is on the other side of that question with their latest single, “Down, Down”. And it turns out that it doesn’t really get any less complex once you say the things eating at you from the inside with the people around you, as vocalist Grady Allen is finding out hard. “Is it my fault? / Or can I stop before I say / ‘I’ll see you around’?,” anthem collides into a shout, with emotions and the reaction they get both being valid. The band is at least finding more stable footing against the emo-core rocks life sets in their path. For now, that question will have to remain unanswered…
Anxious’ “Down, Down” single is available now on Run for Cover Records.
